Joshua Tree Residence
Thousand Palms, California 960 sq ft interior
Inspired by the residual mining shacks in the area, this small residence creates a very porous relationship between its interior and exterior rooms. Acting almost as a body in the landscape, the home is able to open and close as the very varied climate changes. From the entrance courtyard breaking down the scale of the vast landscape to the sleeping platform on the roof, the client’s connection to nature is ever changing.
Completed in partnership with John Anderson Studio.
