Ben & Jerry's Homemade, Inc. Waste Treatment Education Facility

Waterbury, Vermont 2,000 sq ft

This commercial project provides restroom facilities for the visitors to the Ben & Jerry’s Homemade factory, while providing an educational opportunity in describing how waste water from the ice cream production is recycled for use in the building’s plumbing fixtures as well as the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.  The design also responds to a challenging site; the low profile of the building allows uninterrupted views of the Worcester Range for visitors approaching the tour lobby and an opportunity to view the building’s green roof at close range.
